3. Submit articles - The scope of the Outcyclopedia makes it beyond the ability of one person to research and author. Therefore, I'm inviting any and all persons who can write and research and who care about the preservation of our history and culture to assist in the full realization of this project. Submission of articles is ideal, but photos, suggested entries and links, and any amount of information on the persons and topics covered on this site are welcome. Please be advised that I derive no profit from this site, and cannot afford to give monetary compensation for contributions. However, as a writer, you will have the satisfaction of seeing your work published in a medium which can be accessed by millions around the world. You will be given credit for your work, and listed in the contributors section of the site. If you are an aspiring writer or journalist, you will receive valuable experience which you may list on your resume. Most importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you have done your part to preserve the history and culture of the GLBT community and make same available to the public.
Currently, we need information on persons, events, terms, and places of relevance to the gay community. Please don't submit finished articles without contacting me first. Note: I will not publish lurid articles on currently living persons who are not out about their sexuality. I do not believe in the practice of outing celebrities, and I don't want to be the target of $100 million lawsuits. An exception would be someone who contributes actively to gay rights or AIDS awareness, but again, their privacy on sexual matters should be respected.
Article submissions should be made in text, HTML, or MSWorks 2000 formats. Pictures should be in GIF or JPG/JPEG format. Please provide information on how to contact you as well as verifiable sources for your material. If submitting an article on an adult film star or some aspect of gay sexuality, please do not use graphic language. All articles will be edited for spelling and grammar, with links inserted.
If you wish to submit a proposal, or require further information, please contact me at outcyclopedia@hotmail.com. Thank you for supporting the Outcyclopedia.
