Matthew Rush (1972 - )
Ernest Thesiger
Falcon Studios
Born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania on 22 September, Matthew Rush has emerged over the past year as one of the most popular performers in gay adult films.  His impressive 6 foot, 190 pound physique, the result of his years as a competitive bodybuilder, have combined with his screen presence and amiable personality to attract an enormous fan following.  Of biracial heritage, Matthew does not see himself as either "white" or "black" or a role model for either racial group, but instead wishes to be accepted and admired for his own individual qualities as both a person and a fantasy man.  He also considers himself lucky to have been inducted into the "special fraternity" of gay adult models, and appreciates the familial camaraderie that exists among its members.

Growing up in Huntingdon, where the word "gay" was not even used, by his admission Rush was something of a "geek" as a youth, devoting his time to comic books and television.  His mother first told him she knew he was "different" when he was 16, but still loved him.  Still, Matthew did not come out until he was nineteen.  While he admires and is grateful for the small-town values he acquired growing up in Huntingdon, he also acknowledges that the coming out process is much harder for gays in small towns than it is in larger cities.

After a career as a personal trainer at a gay health club in Columbus, Ohio and participation in numerous bodybuilding competitions, Rush made his debut in adult videos by appearing in a softcore video for Muscle East in 1999.  When the health club where he was employed closed, he sent his photos to Falcon Studios, and soon was cast in the 2001 falcon video, Alone With #1.  That same year he appeared on the back cover of the Adam Gay Video Directory, and was featured in the videos Bounce; Hooked; Hazed; Ready for More; and The Other Side of Aspen, Part V.  These in addition to numerous personal appearances across the country rapidly built a huge following for him, and helped garner a Grabby Award for Best Solo performance in March of 2002.  Rush's videos since have included Defined and Splash Shots III: To the Hilt, the latter having some controversy attached to it as several scenes were filmed on 11 September of 2001.  Deep South and Aftershock are two forthcoming projects.  When asked what he might do when his career in adult videos ends, Rush says he may pursue his childhood fantasy of working as a movie stuntman.

Matthew Rush has often stated that he enjoys interacting with his fans, but is quick to point that his persona in front of the camera and the person that he is in private are two entirely different entities.  His much publicized relationship with fellow adult performer Zak Spears ended in early 2002, - they remain friends - and Rush is now in a relationship with a West Hollywood man outside the business.  Matthew himself resides quietly in Columbus.

Matthew Rush's videos include Alone With - Vol. 1 (2001); Bounce (2001);  Hazed (2001); Hooked (2001); The Ohter Side of Aspen V (2001);  Ready For More (2001); Aftershock - Part 2 (2002); Deep South - Part 2 (2002);  Defined (2002); Splash Shots III - To The Hilt (2002).
