Rip Colt / Colt Studios

Toby was a model and gay porn actor in
the 1970s and early 80s who worked chiefly in short film loops for Colt
Studios, for which he also modeled in calendars and photo collections.
Born Norman Eric Griffin on 10 October 1944 in Evesham, UK, he also sometimes
worked under the name of Mark Griffin and appeared in a fashion photo layout
in Playgirl
in 1974. His most well-known adult movie credit is a late 70s short
film loop for Colt, "Chute," with Al
Parker. This loop was included with several others in the video
compilation, The Original Good Hot Stuff, released in 1986.
Other film loops he did in the seventies were included in some installments
of The Best of Colt and The Best of Buckshot
video series.
Retiring from modeling and the adult
film industry in 1980, he opened Belgravia, a popular and well-known
antique store on Melrose Avenue in Los
Angeles, which he operated for over ten years with his partner, with
whom he had been together since 1971. Norman Griffin, the former
Toby, passed away from AIDS
complications on 19 February in 1993.
